He obtained his MBBS degree from Rawalpindi Medical College, Punjab University in 1989/90. He has 24 years of experience in addiction and HIV management in the Republic of South Africa, and holds an MFGP/M.Med from Medunsa in South Africa (RSA). He completed his ATLS at Ga-Renkuwa Hospital and ATLS-ACLS at Johannesburg General Hospital, both affiliated with Wits University in RSA.
