Rehabilitation in Pakistan for Overseas Pakistanis

You are in London, Dubai, Toronto, or New York. The person you love, your son, your brother, your husband, is in Pakistan, and addiction is taking him away piece by piece. From thousands of miles away you hear fragments: money missing, phone switched off, relatives giving you half the story because they do not want to worry you. You cannot sit in front of a doctor, or check whether he reached a genuine centre. This page is written for you.

Healing Door Rehab & Psychiatric Center in Bani Gala, Islamabad, treats patients whose families live abroad. You arrange everything from your country, by phone. Our doctors assess and treat your loved one here, and you stay involved at every step through one nominated family contact and family sessions arranged during treatment.

Start with one confidential call or WhatsApp message: +92-314-9922547 (24/7).

(Where there is treatment, and belonging too.)

Why This Is So Hard When You Are Abroad

You never get the full picture. Everyone in Pakistan tells you a softer version; by the time the truth reaches you, months have been lost.

You cannot verify anything yourself. Which centre is real, which doctor is qualified, whether your money is paying for treatment or feeding the addiction: from abroad, all of it is guesswork.

Phone pleading does not work. Hundreds of calls, promises made at night, broken by morning. Addiction responds to structured, in-person treatment, not to distance and worry.

The family in Pakistan is exhausted too. Parents are ageing, siblings have their own homes, and some relatives quietly give money that keeps the addiction alive. Love is not the problem; the absence of a professional plan is.

Why Families Abroad Choose Healing Door

One point of contact for you: an admissions contact who knows your case, answers you directly, and coordinates everything with the clinical team. You never chase five different people for news.

You speak to our team before you decide. A phone consultation with our admissions and clinical team: your loved one’s history, substances, and health are reviewed with you before any commitment or payment.

You stay informed, properly. Your nominated family contact receives scheduled progress updates from our team, with the patient’s permission, and family sessions are arranged during treatment.

Your relatives in Pakistan can be present. Family here can visit the centre, meet the team, and join sessions in person, while you join by phone. Everyone hears the same plan.

Treatment among his own people. Therapy in Urdu and English, doctors and psychologists who understand Pakistani family life, faith, and the shame that stops families asking for help, with spiritually aware counselling where the patient wants it.

A cost that makes full treatment possible. A complete residential programme at Healing Door costs a fraction of one month of private rehab in the UK, USA, Canada, or Australia.

No waiting list. When your family is ready, we move: the assessment is arranged following your first call.

Privacy that protects everyone. Admission is confidential: nothing reaches employers or your community, here or abroad; only the people the patient authorises know.

How Admission Works When You Are Abroad and Your Loved One Is in Pakistan

1

You contact us from your country.

Call or WhatsApp +92-314-9922547. The first conversation is a confidential family consultation: what is happening, which substances, how long, what has been tried.

2

Clinical assessment, with you involved.

Our admissions and clinical team reviews the history with you on a phone call. Where your loved one is willing, he joins the assessment call too. Where he is refusing, we start with family guidance, because admission follows the patient’s own agreement after assessment.

3

A written estimate and plan, before anything begins.

Our doctors confirm that Healing Door is the right level of care, outline the programme and its expected length, and you receive the expected cost in writing before admission. No money moves before you have the full picture.

4

Admission in Bani Gala, Islamabad.

Your loved one is admitted at the centre, arriving with relatives in Pakistan where possible, or as coordinated with our admissions team. Medical examination and any detox begin on admission, and before the day ends, your family receives its first update call.

5

Treatment, with you inside the process.

Medical detox, psychiatric care where addiction travels with depression, anxiety, or psychosis (dual diagnosis treatment), individual and group therapy, family sessions arranged during treatment (relatives in Pakistan join in person, and you can join by phone where possible), and scheduled progress updates to your nominated contact, with the patient’s permission.

6

Discharge, planned with you.

Before discharge the team agrees a discharge plan with the family. Its centre is the written relapse-prevention plan, built with him during treatment around his personal triggers and early warning signs, with the family’s agreed response at each sign: what the family in Pakistan should watch for, and what your role from abroad looks like. Aftercare planning is part of the treatment plan, whether he stays in Pakistan or later joins you in your country.

If Your Loved One Refuses: Starting the Conversation That Leads to Treatment

Most families abroad tell us the same thing: he agrees on the phone at night and refuses by morning, or he will not discuss it at all. Refusal is not stubbornness alone. Addiction takes away a person’s ability to see his own condition clearly, and shame does the rest. A planned conversation works far better than a hundred worried calls.

What our team can do: prepare you for this conversation in the confidential family consultation, explain what other families found worked, and, when he is willing to listen, speak with him directly by phone, so he hears the plan from a doctor.

What we cannot do, honestly: admission at Healing Door follows the patient’s own agreement after assessment. We cannot compel treatment, and no centre should promise to collect and hold someone by force. Never try to transport an unwilling or medically unwell person in a family car. If he is in immediate danger, contact emergency services where he is first, and call us after.

1

Choose the moment.

Talk when he is sober and calm, not during a crisis or a family gathering. One or two trusted family members should speak; a crowd feels like an attack.

2

Talk about events, not labels.

“The money for the house is gone, and we found you unresponsive in March” reaches further than “you are an addict.”

3

Say what changes either way.

Be honest about what you will keep doing (paying for treatment, staying involved) and what you will stop doing (sending cash that disappears, covering up with relatives). Money given with love often keeps the addiction funded.

4

Offer one clear next step.

Not “fix your life,” but “speak once to the doctors with us on a call, hear the plan, then decide.”

5

Expect anger, and do not close the door.

The first conversation often fails. Leave the offer standing and repeat calmly. Many of our patients agreed on the third or fourth conversation, not the first.

What Healing Door Handles for the Family Abroad

The assessment and paperwork: medical history review with you, admission documentation, and the written treatment plan and cost.

Admission-day coordination: arrival at the Bani Gala centre arranged with your relatives in Pakistan and confirmed to you directly.

Family visits in Pakistan: relatives here can visit and join sessions in person, and we can guide visiting family on staying near Bani Gala.

Discharge planning with you: the relapse-prevention plan, warning signs, and family guidance for the home in Pakistan.

What your family handles: being reachable as the nominated contact, and involving relatives in Pakistan for visits where possible. If your loved one later joins you abroad, the flights are yours to book; we guide you on timing.

Admission checklist for your loved one:

his CNIC or other ID

a current medication list with prescriptions

any recent medical or psychiatric reports

one nominated family contact abroad, and one in Pakistan if available.

Documents and Practical Preparation

Families abroad always ask what paperwork is needed. It is less than most people fear:

1

His identity document.

His CNIC, or his NICOP if he holds one. NICOP is the identity card issued to Pakistanis living overseas; it is accepted in place of a CNIC, and keeping it valid makes his later travel to join you straightforward. If documents have expired or been lost, tell us on the first call; paperwork problems should never delay urgent treatment.

2

Passport, where travel is involved.

If your loved one will fly to join you after treatment, or is travelling from another country for admission, check that his passport is valid beyond the travel dates, and renew early if it is close to expiry.

3

Medication documentation.

Any medicines he takes should stay in their original packaging, with the prescription or doctor’s letter. Our doctors must know exactly what he is taking before detox is planned, and prescribed medication should always travel documented.

4

Medical and psychiatric reports.

Recent reports, discharge summaries, or previous treatment records, if the family has them. Clear phone photographs of documents are fine for the assessment stage.

5

What to pack.

Comfortable clothes for one to two weeks, toiletries without alcohol content (no mouthwash or aftershave), slippers, and a warm layer in winter. Leave valuables and large amounts of cash at home.

This is practical guidance from our admissions team’s experience, not legal or immigration advice. For passport, visa, or citizenship questions, check with the relevant consulate or your airline.

Treatment at Healing Door: What Your Loved One Receives

Medically supervised detox for alcohol, opioids (including heroin), ICE/methamphetamine, cocaine, cannabis, and prescription-drug dependence (benzodiazepines, pregabalin and tramadol), managed by our physicians. See our drug addiction treatment programme.

Psychiatric care from our psychiatrists for the mental health conditions that so often travel with addiction.

Structured therapy: individual counselling, group therapy, relapse-prevention work, and family therapy, using evidence-based approaches including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and motivational interviewing, coordinated by our CEO and consultant psychologist, Dr. Asad Ali Noor, and the clinical team.

A setting that helps: a calm residential environment in Bani Gala, a quiet, green part of Islamabad near Rawal Lake, with regular halal, home-style meals, a supervised routine, and no access to his using network.

Complete privacy. Nothing is shared with employers, community members, or anyone the patient does not authorise, and family updates go only to the nominated contact. The only exceptions are those the law and immediate clinical safety require, explained before admission, not after.

If Your Family Is Split Between Countries

This is the reality for most overseas Pakistanis: a son working in Dubai, parents in Lahore, the patient himself in Karachi, a wife and children in London. Our family programme is built for it.

Family sessions and scheduled progress updates, with the patient’s permission, are arranged around exactly this split. Our Bani Gala centre: Opposite Meezan Bank, Main Jinnah Road, Bani Gala, Islamabad. Explore all of our treatment services.

Coming Home for Your Own Treatment?

Some overseas Pakistanis read this page about themselves, not a relative. If you are living abroad and want treatment here, in your own language, privately and at Pakistan-based costs, the same team will plan it with you directly: a confidential phone consultation first, then admission, with aftercare planning included before discharge.

Areas We Serve

This hub serves Pakistani families living anywhere in the world. The countries with their own guides are the United Kingdom, the USA, Canada, Saudi Arabia, Dubai and the UAE, Qatar, and Australia; families elsewhere arrange care the same way.

FAQs: Arranging Rehab in Pakistan From Abroad

Yes, and most of our overseas admissions begin exactly this way. You lead the process from your country: the consultation, assessment, treatment plan and expected cost are all handled by phone. Admission takes place at our Bani Gala centre, and before the day ends, your family receives its first update call.

Your family’s nominated contact receives scheduled progress updates from our team, with the patient’s permission, and family sessions are arranged during treatment, in person for relatives in Pakistan and by phone where possible. Before admission our team explains exactly what will be shared, with whom, and how often.

Yes. You can have a phone consultation with our admissions and clinical team before deciding anything; it is a clinical conversation, not a sales call. Bring your questions about his condition and the treatment approach.

Treatment works best when the patient takes part willingly, and admission follows the patient’s own agreement after assessment. If he refuses, start with the confidential family consultation: our team can explain how families approach the conversation and what options exist. If someone is in immediate danger, contact emergency services first.

Private rehab abroad commonly runs to several thousand pounds or dollars for one month; a full programme at Healing Door costs a fraction of that. Call us and you will receive the expected cost in writing before admission, and our team will explain the payment arrangements for families paying from abroad.

Yes. Family in Pakistan can visit the centre and join sessions in person, arranged with the clinical team, while you follow by phone and through your nominated contact.

Admission is fully confidential. We do not share patient information with employers, community members, or anyone else without the patient’s consent, and our Bani Gala setting is away from his everyday world in Pakistan.

If the assessment shows a severe withdrawal risk, an acute psychiatric episode, or a medical condition that needs hospital treatment first, our doctors will say so plainly and recommend hospital assessment before residential rehab begins. We would rather delay admission by a few days than begin it unsafely.

Discharge includes a written relapse-prevention plan, guidance for the family in Pakistan on supporting recovery at home, and guidance on how you stay involved from abroad. Aftercare is part of the treatment planning before discharge, whether he stays in Pakistan or later joins you in your country.

Alcohol, heroin and other opioids, ICE (methamphetamine), cocaine, cannabis, and prescription medications such as benzodiazepines, pregabalin (Lyrica) and tramadol, along with mental health conditions that occur alongside addiction.

Most residential programmes run from 30 to 90 days depending on the substance, medical needs, and mental health picture. The assessment recommends a duration before admission, so the family can plan around it.

Start With One Confidential Call
